Creon became king when Oedipus was banished and he married Eurydice and had two children, Megarus and Haimon. Specifically, Theban Princess Antigone does the courageous, selfless deed of burying her brother Polyneices, whose body is denied its god-given rights to a below-ground burial by an arbitrary, contrary royal edict. She refuses to obey a royal decree that defies god-given rights to proper burial for all Thebans. Creon is stubborn and does not want to compromise. Creon became king at a time when Thebes had been turned against itself. They realize that he has brought all of his problems on himself and should have been more open-minded, but think no one should have to go through what he has. One can say that she is stubborn, but that doesn't really qualify as hamartia because it doesn't really cause the downfall of everything.
